Clays for Classrooms: Honoring the Legacy of Susan Copeland
The Polk Education Foundation Board and Team are deeply moved to honor the remarkable leadership of their longtime Executive Director, Susan Copeland, by renaming the annual clays event to Susan Copeland Memorial Clays for Classrooms. Susan’s transformative impact on students and teachers, combined with her love for clay shooting, continues to inspire this event. The funds raised will directly support classroom grants, Free Teacher Market supplies, and a portion will go toward growing Susan’s endowed scholarship.
This year’s event featured a thrilling 4-person flurry shoot at Golotko Ranch in Fort Meade, starting at 7 pm. Participants shot under black lights, with glow-in-the-dark clays lighting up the sky like fireworks—a truly unique and unforgettable experience. More than just a clay shoot, this annual event is a vital fundraiser for Polk County Public Schools’ educational programs, ensuring that every dollar raised stays right here in our community.
A heartfelt thank you to all our 2025 sponsors. If you'd like to become a sponsor or donate to this worthy cause next year, helping us honor Susan’s memory and continue making a lasting impact, please reach out to the Polk Education Foundation.
